As we approach Spring, it’s time to start thinking about how to style all those gorgeous pieces from SS18 fashion week.  We love the classic French feel of YSL’s SS18 collection, and we hope to see plenty of those pieces being worn in real life.  If you have any of these garments in your closet, we have a few suggestions for how to style SS18 pieces from YSL now.

Short Shorts

Shorts were all over Spring/Summer 2018 fashion week, so be prepared to show a little leg this spring!  Designer shorts, like those from YSL, are very versatile and can transition from day to night, from cooler weather to warm.  Pair the shorts with tights and a cool jacket in early spring when the temps don’t call for bare legs.  As the weather warms up, you can ditch the tights and pair the shorts with a tucked in blouse instead.  Your choice of footwear can elevate your look from day to night.  Strappy sandals are perfect for day.  In the evening, opt for a pair of boots or heels for more drama.

Statement Boots

Speaking of boots, YSL sent some knockout boots down the runway.  When you wear these show-stopping boots, it’s best to tone down your other accessories.  You don’t want your designer feather fringed boots competing for attention with a giant pair of earrings.  Let them be the star of your outfit.

Rompers

Style your YSL romper like would a pair of elegant shorts.  Adding a bit of heel to your footwear adds elegance to the look, while flats keep it casual.  Belted rompers look more sophisticated, and they also give you a gorgeous waistline.

Parisian Style

To truly capture that enviable French style, try to choose pieces that are minimal and classic.  The beauty of iconic French style is that it looks so effortless.  Too many accessories, patterns or fuss makes the outfit looked overworked.  Choose one statement piece, like this standout belt buckle, and keep the rest of the look clean.
