Paris Fashion Week is wrapped and the cool girl ruled. Many of the shows featured more relaxed looks doused with a helping of effortless chic. There was an absence of fussiness in both fashion and styling. As lovers of all things luxury, we are sharing some of our favorite shows with you.
Louis Vuitton
The Louis Vuitton show combined luxury textiles like silk and cashmere with the silhouettes of sportswear. The graphic contrast of the color story was repeated in the styling of the models, complete with lacquered dark lips.
Chanel
Chanel’s classically ladylike aesthetic appeared once again in a collection of gorgeously cut looks, topped off with flat hats and Coco’s trademark pearls. Karl Lagerfeld did manage to modernize the iconic Chanel suits with quilted fabrics and even denim. Those lucky enough to score tickets to the show got an up-close look at this front row only show.
Balmain
Gigi Hadid and Kylie Jenner walked the Balmain runway for Paris Fashion Week, although you might not have recognized them at first — each was wearing a wig in each other’s hair color. The incredibly sexy show featured luxe textiles in sophisticated grey-pastels, occasionally accented with shining metal accents or hip-high suede boots.
Elie Saab
Tassels, fringe, and embroidery ruled the Elie Saab ready-to-wear collection. The models were all styled with striking, smokey eyes and decidedly unfussy hair. Add the ambience created by a live performance by Danish singer MØ, and this was one cool show.
