The Best Runway Looks of All Time: Louis Vuitton

When you attend a Louis Vuitton runway show, you can expect to be entertained.  The French fashion house hires creative directors who create show-stopping sets and theatrical displays that almost eliminate the need for an actual runway.  It was incredibly difficult to choose our favorite Louis Vuitton runway looks, so instead we chose two collections that encompass the spectacle that is a Louis Vuitton runway show.

We loved Louis Vuitton’s dreamy 2012 Spring ready to wear show.  The show featured a full-sized carousel, a pretty pastel color palette, and frothy, feminine looks.

Isn’t that carousel dreamy?  It must have been quite a show to see in person.  Love the looks above and want to see more?  You can see the spring show in its entirety below.  It is not quite the same as being there live but you can get an idea of the amazing display that is a Louis Vuitton show.

Two years later, LV brought the carousel back in a much darker setting.  Where the 2012 show was light and playful, the 2014 Spring/Summer show was dark and moody.  Marc Jacobs’ final show brought back several iconic props from previous shows, while the models served punk rock/Goth/showgirl looks on the runway.

The carousel was even given a dark makeover.  Quite a different look but spectacular all the same.  You will want to watch the full show below.

The Louis Vuitton brand has come a long way from a 13-year-old Louis Vuitton’s 300 mile trek to Paris.  The fashion house is known not only for its timeless luggage, but for its forward-thinking fashion designs.  We have picked two gorgeous shows but there are many more that will amaze and stun anyone that attends.  Which LV runway show was your favorite?
