London Fashion Week, the biannual not-to-be-missed clothing trade show held in London twice each year, recently wrapped up their September event. This year London Fashion Week kicked off on September 16th and concluded on September 20th. The show offered a preview of what we can expect to see in stores and closets in 2017.
Burberry
One of the most buzzed about collections from London Fashion Week this year came from Burberry. Christopher Bailey enchanted the audience with designs that were both stylish and street ready. The collection maintained a decidedly British feel, with velvet cuts and smoking jackets, while still being fashion forward.
Christopher Kane
Christopher Kane created quite a buzz with his decision to accessorize all of his fashions with Crocs. Yes, Crocs, the ever popular yet decidedly non-fashion conscious foam clog. Christopher Kane’s unique voice and style were ever present in his collection. He has maintained his position as leader of the revival of British high fashion.
Roksanda
Roksanda continued to delight the audience with her feminine fashion collection. Her “signature take on shape and her bold use of colour has fast become a go-to for women who are after effortless day and eveningwear, with an unmistakably modern approach to luxury fashion.”
Charlotte Olympia
Finally, Charlotte Olympia may have started out designing accessories, but she has proven to be equally as fashion forward when it comes to clothing. Her affinity for old Hollywood glamour is evident in her style. She creates glamorous designs with a modern silhouette and a touch of humor. At London Fashion Week, we got a glimpse at her fun sense of humor when she sent models down the runway in bedazzled fruit costumes. The costumes emphasize the collection’s “emoji-inspired bags and shoes.”
