New Designers to Watch from London Fashion Week

Last month’s London Fashion Week brought us beautiful and also forward-thinking fashion from dozens of talented designers.  Top labels like Tommy Hilfiger, Burberry, and Emporio Armani presented typically marvelous Spring/Summer shows.  However, a few up-and-coming designers stood out amidst this crown of long-established brands.  After seeing their shows at London Fashion Week, we believe these are the new designers to watch.

Alice Archer

Archer has a growing reputation as one of London’s most exciting and talented designers,

 

British designer Alice Archer is perhaps best known for the gorgeous embroidery which embellishes her pieces.  After graduating from the Royal College of Art, Archer worked as an embroidery designer for Belgian fashion designer Dries van Noten.   Archer uses those honed skills to elevate her ready-to-wear collections.  Her pieces frequently make use of hand, digital and Irish machine embroidery. You may have seen her work won by celebrites like P Diddy, Suzy Menkes, Mrs B, Susie Lau and also Pandora Sykes.

Rejina Pyo

REJINA PYO is best known for it’s graphic and playful yet effortlessly elegant aesthetic.

 

After receiving her Masters in Fashion Design from Central Saint Martins, London-based designer Rejina Pyo began to work with Roksanda Ilincic.  During this time, Pyo won the Han Nefkens Fashion Award, and eventually began her own label.  Her designs show their architectural influence in the strong lines and bold silhouettes.  We also applaud her playful use of color.

Adopting traditional couture techniques realised in a vibrant and modern way, Roberta found her signature maximalist embellishments and illustrative, tonal embroideries.

 

Estonian-born Roberta Einer moved to London to study fashion at Central Saint Martins.  During her schooling, Einer interned with Mart Katrantzou and Alexander McQueen and later worked in Paris for Balmain.  Now leading her own label, Einer’s work shows a penchant for experimentation with textiles.  Her maximalist techniques result in bold and also graphic designs that appeal to young fashionistas.  .

Malone Souliers

Drawing on the discipline and drive for perfection instilled in her by Olympian dressage, Mary Alice designs primarily in architectural principle, and only secondarily to trend, prioritising an exacting standard from the locus of the heel down to the millimetre of motion.

 

American-born Mary Alice Malone is the creative director behind Malone Souliers, the bold footwear brand.  Malone studied at the London College of Fashion before teaming up with managing director Roy Luwolt to create Malone Souliers.  The label’s shoes are crafted from only the finest materials, and also feature fresh and fashionable designs in vivid color.  Perhaps you have seen Malone Souliers shoes on the feet of celebs like Lupita Nyong’o. Solange Knowles,or Cameron Diaz!
