The London Collections Men (LCM) showcases the very best creative and design talent from around the world through a packed schedule of shows, presentations, installations, dinners and parties from Friday 10th – Monday 13th June 2016. LCM Chairman Dylan Jones commented: ‘London continues to confirm its place as the home of menswear, a hub of creativity showing the very best designers to a global audience. The menswear market showing in London incorporates not only internationally acclaimed brands but also luxury tailoring and emerging talent. This array of designers makes London one of the most exciting fashion cities in the world.’
Topman Design
The coveted opening spot of the London Collections Men was held by Topman Design. They set the tone of the entire four day menswear extravaganza with their Spring/Summer ’17 collection. Topman showed a summery line inspired by British beach resorts with plaid colors and white loafers. Vibrant pink and yellow could be seen paired with various prints. The British seaside references of Blackpool, Margate, and Southend could be seen throughout the flashy collection.
J.W. Anderson
Day 1 also included a collection by J.W. Anderson that is designed by the one and only A$AP Rocky, who is known as one of the most stylish rappers in the game. The pieces in the collection include beanies, track pants, heavy-duty fur coats, and more. Anderson gave Rocky full creative control which resulted in unique touches. The J.W. Anderson x A$AP Rocky collection is available now at Anderson’s online store.
Oliver Spencer
Oliver Spencer brought another collection that men are sure to want season after season. This year he added pattern and color to typical work wear for men. Dark red, navy, grey, and black dominated the summer collection but there was still an occasional pop of vibrancy. The Modernist Casa Malaparte on the island of Capri, Italy inspired this collection. The inspiration shows in the stone colored linens and pastel accents. All colors you might see as the sun rises over a Mediterranean villa.
Agi and Sam
Overall the look of the London Collection Mens was stone. Definitely a front runner for the color of summer in 2017. Everyone seemed to have stone shades in their collections. The photo above is from Agi and Sam with some serious stony shades. From cropped jackets to sharply tailored trousers, it was all about the neutral tones at London Collection Mens 2016.
