4 Korean Celebrities Leading Men’s High Fashion

It is one thing to see a stylish look come down the Fashion Week runway.  It’s an altogether different thing to see a celebrity rocking that same look in real life.  Celebrities often take a leading position in the world of fashion because their fans look to them for fashion inspiration.  In Asia, there are a few Korean celebrities leading men’s high fashion.  These chic celebs are trailblazing new trends in men’s fashion.

Lee Dong-wook



Lee Dong-wook is an incredibly popular Korean actor and fashion model. The “Guardian: The Lonely and Great God” actor was the major draw when Valentino opened a flagship store in Hong Kong.  As a well-known fashion icon, Valentino was smart to tap into his celebrity to attract fans and customers to the new boutique.

Kim Ki-bum, better known as Key, is no stranger to the world of fashion.  Although he is best known as a member of K-pop group Shinee, Key has dabbled in creating his own fashion designs.  Generally considered one of the most fashionable men in Korea, he has collaborated with several brand to develop merchandise for himself and for Shinee.  He was later appointed as fashion director of the Korean brand Charm. In 2016, he became a model for the American fashion brand Jill Stuart.  As if that wasn’t enough, Key also serves as a special editor for the Korean Elle where he writes a lifestyle column called ‘Key Story.’

Cha Seung-won

Cha Seung-won started his career as as fashion model before transitioning into acting  He gained popularity as an actor in several films and television series in Korea.  Over the years, he has walked in Seoul Fashion Week runway shows an impressive 22 times!  In 2015, Cha Seung-won was also appointed ambassador for Fashion KODE, a biannual fashion festival organized by the Korean Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism.

Successful as both a solo artist and the leader of South Korean boy band 2AM, Jo Kwon has also influenced the Korean fashion scene. Jo Kwon is often seen at runway shows in Korea, he is even known to experiment with cross-dressing in his stage performances.

Sung Hoon



After an injury ended his award-winning swimming career, Sung Hoon stepped into the world of acting.  The fit actor has graced the runways at Singapore Fashion Week as a model. He even won an award from the 2018 Asian Model Awards.
