While the Emmys are meant to highlight the best in acting and production, the red carpet often steals the show. Stars don their best designer evening wear and bring high fashion to the viewing audience. Who were the winners on the red carpet? Here are some of our favorite moments in fashion at the 2018 Emmys.
Classic Hollywood Glam
Classic Hollywood glamour never goes out of style. Several attendees opted to “play it safe” and go with a classic look. They did not disappoint.
Rachel Brosnahan exuded old Hollywood glamour with this gorgeous one-shouldered dress by Oscar De La Renta. The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel star won the 2018 Emmy for Outstanding Lead Actress in a comedy series.

Elisabeth Moss also embraced a classic, voluptuous old Hollywood look with her dress choice. She looked glamorous in her custom black silk double georgette Vera Wang creation. The ensemble included a strapless sweetheart corset and a pencil skirt with a leg-accentuating slit detail.
Men Breaking the Mold
Men do not usually get a lot of attention on the red carpet, primarily because most stick with the black lapel tuxedo that is standard at award shows. This year, several men decided to show their creativity and individuality via their choices for fashion at the 2018 Emmys.

Darren Criss won the Emmy award for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Limited Series or Movie for his performance in The Assassination of Gianni Versace: American Crime Story. His bold look that evening has landed him on both “best of” and “worst of” lists for the evening, depending whom you ask. While he did stick with the traditional black colored suit for the event, this Emporio Armani design stood out thanks to the grey diamond pattern and gold brocade accents.
Fashion Forward
Sometimes the latest fashions from the runways make an appearance at the Emmys. Here are two hot looks that made the leap from the catwalk to the red carpet.

Tracee Ellis Ross was a show stopper with this voluminous pink dress from Valentino Haute Couture. The off-the-shoulder gown is both full-skirted and full-sleeved, creating a dramatic silhouette. The cinched waist gives the dress a flattering fit. This design by creative director Pierpaolo Piccioli was first seen in Valentino’s fall collection in Paris, but Ross brought the dress to life.
Bold Color Choices
Color is in this fall, and many celebrities embraced the trend. This season’s hot colors were on display with the fashion at the 2018 Emmys in a big way.
