The limited edition Tiffany Square Watch was designed to commemorate the 180th anniversary of Tiffany & Co.  The designers drew inspiration from the roaring ‘20s.  The art deco style captures all the style and sophistication of the much loved Jazz Age in America, which was also a great period of time for Tiffany as a brand.

“The Jazz Age refers to a glittering moment in time when America came alive through jazz music, unbridled optimism, innovation, and glamour. It is this explosion of creative energy and social change that defined the American spirit, and it continues to inspire,” says Nicola Andreatta, vice president and general manager of Tiffany & Co. Swiss Watches Sagl.

“I have to say it was love at first sight. We reviewed a series of timepieces belonging to our 20th-century heritage, and certain pieces immediately caught our attention,” continues Andreatta. “One of them was the original Square Watch, which in my opinion had all the qualities to be considered the quintessential Tiffany watch for a man.”

The Details

The 180 piece limited edition Tiffany watch was entirely designed, engineered, and manufactured in Switzerland.  Made of 18 carat gold which comes from a single American mine, Tiffany Gold has a standard of uncompromising purity.  The gold meets the jewelry industry’s highest standards for environmental and also social responsibility.  Buyers can rest assured that their purchase is of superior quality in every regard.

The manually wound movement has a 42 hour power reserve.  This return to the store’s in-house caliber manufacturing is a notable element of the design. Other watches within the Tiffany’s collection feature a round movement.  In true throwback style, the Tiffany Square Watch returns to the manual winding caliber that has been designed into a nice square that fills out the back of the watch.

The white dial of the watch features gold poudré Arabic numerals. The hands of the watch also showcase the art deco feel of the piece with cathedral style hour and minute hands.  The Tiffany Square Watch is also water resistant to 50 meters/160 feet/5 ATM.  A black alligator strap finishes this limited edition watch perfectly.

The Reviews

Reviews of the Tiffany Square Watch have been very favorable, and collectors appear to be excited about the return to a classic design.  Here is a sampling of what watch enthusiasts have to say about this limited edition piece:

“However, the real highlight here is the new movement that Tiffany is introducing. This square movement marks the first time in a long time that the New York jeweler has produced an in-house caliber. This is an exciting step for the monolithic retailer that revived its watch division in 2015 with the release of the CT60 collection, which used Sellita movements. Introducing a limited-edition timepiece with an in-house caliber is a great way to endear yourself to watch enthusiasts and draw attention to your brand. You can view the manual-winding TCO.1874M caliber through the open case back.” -Logan Baker at Watch Time

“The new Tiffany Square Watch has very attractive vintage look to it.  The overall case design and architecture of the Tiffany & Co. Square watch is quite impressive in its aesthetic.  It has a smaller, 27mm wide case made of yellow gold, with an impressively 6.9mm thickness.  The polished, sloping bezel flows seamlessly into the lugs and contrasts nicely with the brushed finished side of the case.” – Perpetuelle

“We usually find it quite uncomfortable to wear square watches mainly because of the design itself but things are about to change with the new Tiffany & Co. Square watch. This is a mechanical watch from a well-known jewelry maker and we expect Tifanny to move forward in the world of men’s mechanical watches or haute horology over time.” -Jovan Krsteyski at Wrist Review
